Just wondering if there are any forum members that live in Tasmania. I need some drinking buddies.
Cheers Mark

Sorry mate not me. You are however rather lucky having the majority of Aus distillery's in your neck of the woods though. Actually enjoying a Lark CS port finish as we speak! YUM

Hi Mark,

If you want some drinking buddies, I see The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is holding a tasting in Hobart on August 30th.

Details at www.smws.com.au

Thanks Admiral but unfortunately live 3 hours from Hobart but I am hoping to get down there one day for a tasting. On the upside I only live 25 minutes from Hellyers Road distillery. Have had a few tastings there and they have very nice meals too.

Hi Mark,

3 hours? Easy! :-)

Earlier this year I was speaking with the guy who runs the SMWS tastings in Brisbane. He was telling me he has members who drive for 8-10 hours all the way down from Rockhampton, etc, just to attend the tastings!

And I've bumped into plenty of people at the Sydney tastings who drive for three hours down from the Hunter Valley and beyond Newcastle just to attend!

Only problem is that they seem to be on Thursday nights and bloody work tends to get in the way. I will get to one in the near future hopefully.
